The methodology aims to consider all aspects including technical, hydrological, environmental issues, connection to existing grid and all other local specificities necessary for the assessment of the small hydro power plants (SHPP) locations. It will be based on the analysis of hydrological potentials, analysis of geological situations, the existing projects under construction and/or in the development phase, optimal exploitation of hydro potential at the streams, identification and analysis of location for accumulations where applicable, identification and analysis of existing electrical grid capacities, analysis of available access roads positions and identification of possible locations for new SHPP.
The objective of the developed methodology is to define locations with sufficient energy potentials and technology for the best utilization of each water potential in terms of energy efficiency and environmental protection.
